Begin by navigating to the right side menu for subtitles database of Japanese TV dramas.
Hi world. Welcome to my little repository of English subtitles. I feel that I should contribute a little to the community given that I've always watched Japanese media subbed by others for granted. Also, it always feels better to read my own translation instead.
Meanwhile, I'll pick the Japanese dramas I'm interested in watching and when there's Japanese subtitles available, I'll translate from that source and release it here when it's ready.
Do take note that since this is only a freelance no-profit project, kindly do not expect outstanding quality nor lightning speed production releases.
A little about me...
I've obtained a JLPT2 back in 2009 but have since not been actively in use of the Japanese language. I also have no intention to continue to study for JLPT1 (or N1 as the new exam syllabus refers to as now). I attended JLPT2 exam preparatory class in a local language school for only half the course period, although it was supposed to last a whole year. I stopped as I was conscripted to enlist full-time shortly after into military service. I did not go to any classes nor taken any JLPT before. That said, this JLPT2 language qualification is my first. My knowledge and proficiency practice prior to signing up for a class came mostly from a useful dictionary, some online friends and not forgetting - Japanese anime and dramas.
I hail from Singapore - and in the year 2011, aged 22 years old. I've only recently been released from full-time liability of the above said military service. I've embarked on a journey to further my studies at a university level, having already completed a Diploma in Banking & Financial Services. I am currently doing a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
Back in my younger days, I have successfully completed a few web programming projects for business clients on a freelance basis. I had been fascinated by computers since my introduction to it at a young age. I did some QuickBASIC programming in the MS-DOS days, moved up to writing HTML and JavaScript at around 9, before being exposed to CGI and PHP some 5 years later. Overall, I had become most familiar with PHP and mySQL by 18, although at that same time I had to learn a thing or two on ASP VB and MS Access 2007 as part of a e-commerce module project while in the pursue of the now-obtained diploma (whew! what a long sentence).
I've moved away from this realm now, although I'm still rather drawn into new technologies such as the Android OS, rooting and applications.
I'll start learning Korean soon when I have more than 24 hours on my clock and then do some subtitles for Korean dramas as well. But don't put your hopes too high, because that will not come anytime soon.
